Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark (recognized in 2018)

Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark is located in the northernmost region of Vietnam, about 300km from Hanoi, with an area of ​​more than 3000 km2, including 6 districts of Ha Quang, Tra Linh, Quang Uyen, Trung Khanh, Ha Lang, Phuc Hoa and part of the area of ​​Hoa An, Nguyen Binh and Thach An districts. This is where 9 different ethnic groups live, such as Tay, Nung, H’Mong, Kinh, Dao, San Chay…

Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark is a rare land, where you can learn about over 500 million years of Earth’s history through the traces left here. Fossils, marine sediments, volcanic rocks, minerals…, especially limestone landscapes, are wonderful testaments to the evolution and change of the Earth. They deserve to be unique geological heritage sites.

Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark also contains many tangible and intangible cultural heritages, especially revolutionary historical relics, including the Pac Bo Special National Monument – where President Ho Chi Minh returned to Vietnam. Returned home in 1941 to lead the revolutionary movement after more than thirty years abroad; Tran Hung Dao Forest Special National Monument – where in 1944 General Vo Nguyen Giap founded the Vietnam Liberation Army Propaganda Team, the predecessor of today’s Vietnam People’s Army. Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark is also famous for its rich biodiversity values ​​and many endemic ecosystems and plant and animal species.
