Dam Doi Bird Sanctuary is located about 45 km south of Ca Mau city, in Tan Dan commune, Dam Doi district. Dam Doi Bird Sanctuary has a total area of ​​132 hectares. More than 30 years ago, Dam Doi was the largest bird sanctuary in terms of the number of individuals in the Mekong Delta. The fauna of the former bird sanctuary was recorded to have 16 species of mammals and 116 species of birds, many of which are listed in the Vietnam Red Book and the World Red Book (Hoang Cuong 1993).
