Go Thap relic site is located in My Hoa and Tan Kieu communes, Thap Muoi district, about 11 km north of Thap Muoi district, 43 km northeast of Cao Lanh city (by road and waterway). This is a national relic site recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism since 1998, containing many cultural and historical values of the nation.

At the end of 2012, the Government ranked the Go Thap archaeological and architectural relic as a special national relic. This is not only an honor and pride for Dong Thap province, but also the clearest affirmation of the great value of the Go Thap relic.

Coming to Go Thap, visitors will be surprised because this is not only a relic site but also has beautiful and wild natural scenery. Go Thap is nearly 500 m long and 200 m wide. In the dry season, many large and small sand dunes meander, forming a floating mound. On the mound, there are many hundred-year-old trees spreading shade and towering high. In the flood season, the vast fields of water intermingle with the green of trees and grass, creating a majestic natural landscape.

From My Hoa road, the Go Thap relic complex includes 5 typical relics: Thap Muoi hill, Co Tu tower, tomb and temple of Doc Binh Kieu, Minh Su hill, Ba Chua Xu temple. Here, archaeologists have discovered many valuable ancient relics, evidence of the ancient Oc Eo culture. At the southernmost point of the Go Thap relic complex is Go Thap Muoi hill, which is also the highest hill (5,046 m). During the two resistance wars against France and the US, Go Thap Muoi relic was the base of agencies in the South and Zone 8.

Every year, this place holds two traditional folk festivals: the Lady of the Realm’s feast (full moon day of the third lunar month) and the commemoration of two national heroes Thien Ho Duong and Doc Binh Kieu (full moon day of the eleventh lunar month), attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors.
