According to legend, King Hung Vuong IX had a princess named Que My Nuong with a gentle, virtuous and kind personality. When she reached the age of marriage, many princes and princes came to propose to her, but she refused them all, preferring to travel to the natural landscape. She loved to visit Huyen Dinh – Yen Tu valley because of its mysterious beauty, surrounded by dense forests and mountains, and temperate climate.

One day, in early spring, the princess traveled to Nghi Phuong land, witnessed the dry land here, the people were starving, she was very heartbroken, the princess used her 5 fingertips to press down on each stone slab. Strangely, a cool stream of water gushed out into a stream, bringing water to irrigate the fields. From then on, the land in this area became fertile, the people’s lives became more and more prosperous.

To remember the merits of Princess Que My Nuong, the villagers named the stream Suoi Mo (or Suoi Mau). Along the two banks of the stream, the villagers built three temples next to each other: Ha Temple, Trung Temple and Thuong Temple. Princess Que My Nuong was given the title of Thanh Mau Thuong Ngan by the people.

At the same time, local people solemnly celebrate Suoi Mo festival on two main days from March 30 to April 1 of the lunar calendar. The festival is mainly concentrated at three temples and around Suoi Mo Eco-tourism Area. The festival includes a ceremony and a festival.

The ceremony is a procession of the people of Quynh village carrying the palanquin to Trung temple to worship, then Dum village carries the palanquin to Ha temple to worship and bow to Thuong temple to pray for a bountiful harvest, good health, prosperity for every family… In the festival, there is an exchange of arts, singing Cheo, singing Chau Van and some unique folk games such as wrestling, cockfighting, chess…

The natural scenery blends with the ancient traces, Suoi Mo festival has really attracted tourists from many regions in the country. They come to Suoi Mo to pray for good things and peace in life, they also come to learn about local customs and practices, visit and experience the Suoi Mo eco-tourism area.

In addition, according to legend, it was also at this place that Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan, along with his soldiers and generals, achieved a resounding victory against the Northern invaders. Therefore, the local people also built a temple to commemorate his merits; here are also the relics of Bai Quan Ngua, Bai Da Da Kiem…

The Suoi Mo Temple Historical Relic Complex has become the pride of local people, not only for its beautiful environmental landscape and natural landscape but also for its cultural beauty in the Vietnamese cultural space. In addition, the Suoi Mo Eco-tourism Area Special-Use Forest is a tropical forest ecosystem, typical of the Northeast region of Vietnam, where there is a rich and diverse flora with hundreds of species of plants, timber trees, medicinal plants, along with dozens of species of animals, hundreds of species of birds, reptiles, etc.

Coming to Suoi Mo scenic spot, the first impressive sight is the clear stream, winding like a silk strip flowing from the mountain with large rocks stacked on top of each other, making the stream have many vertical waterfalls, the water flows rapidly with white foam, the stream bed has many artificial bathtubs, surrounded by hills and mountains, with rich and diverse vegetation with hundreds of species of trees, somewhere occasionally there is the sound of birds chirping.

All of these blend together to make the nature and sky here peaceful and quiet, giving visitors moments of relaxation, blending with nature in a close and natural way.
