Phu Canh Nature Reserve has a natural area of over 5,300 hectares, located in four communes of Doan Ket, Tan Pheo, Dong Chum and Dong Ruong of Da Bac district, including 28 villages, more than 2,600 households, mainly Tay people. This place has important biodiversity thanks to the ecosystem and vegetation of tropical and subtropical broadleaf evergreen forests, typical of the Northwest region of Vietnam. Phu Canh Nature Reserve is still home to more than 100 rare species of animals and plants.
