Ta Sua Nature Reserve (KBTTN) was established by the People’s Committee of Son La province in 2003, located in 4 communes; Ta Sua, Hang Dong (Bac Yen district), and Muong Thai, Suoi To (Phu Yen district), Son La province, with a total area of 17,650 ha, located on the southeast slope of Hoang Lien Son range, steep terrain, strong fragmentation, with many peaks over 2000 m high along Phu Sa Phin range, the highest is Phu Chiem Son peak, with an altitude of 2765 m, is an evergreen closed forest ecosystem in the Northwest highlands, valuable for gene conservation and scientific research, because it still stores many rare species of animals and plants. There are 30 species of plants with genetic conservation value, many rare woods such as: pine, green cypress, red pine, and lat hoa… considered the “green lung” of the area of 2 districts Bac Yen and Phu Yen.
