Lang Sen Wetland Conservation Area was established in January 2004 with a total area of more than 5,000 hectares, of which Melaleuca forest accounts for 57%, Lung Ba lotus swamp accounts for 11%, and the remainder is flooded grassland. In the vast cajuput forests, scientists have found 156 species of plants and 149 species of wild animals, including 24 rare species listed in the Vietnam Red Book. In addition, in the bird breeding grounds there are 122 species, mainly waterbirds such as storks, seabirds, storks, cauldrons and some other species. Maintaining riverside vegetation, seasonally flooded natural grasslands, wetlands and increasing the area of melaleuca plantations is a tireless effort of conservationists. That work has been contributing to preserving our typical wetland ecosystem as well as preserving our source of life.
