Kon Ka Kinh National Park Receives Endangered and Rare Animals

Kon Ka Kinh National Park is receiving, caring for, and rescuing many rare animals listed in the Red Book.

On February 7th, the Gia Lai Provincial Forest Protection Department, in coordination with relevant agencies, handed over 14 rare wild animals to the Wildlife Rescue, Conservation and Development Center (Kon Ka Kinh National Park) for care and release back into the wild.

Specifically, the 14 animals received by Kon Ka Kinh National Park include: 7 pig-tailed macaques, 1 golden mountain tortoise, 3 large land tortoises, 1 reticulated python, and 2 deer, all belonging to Group IIB of endangered and rare species.

These endangered and rare animals have been brought to the Wildlife Rescue, Conservation and Development Center for care ( thuộc Kon Ka Kinh National Park). Once the animals are healthy and gradually adapt, the care unit will release them back into the wild according to regulations. It is known that the above-mentioned wild animals have been cared for and nurtured for many years by the Pleiku City Culture-Information and Sports Center at Dien Hong Park.

Every year, the Wildlife Rescue, Conservation and Development Center releases hundreds of gibbons, monkeys, pythons, deer, etc., back into the natural forest. Many species are voluntarily surrendered by people after being educated and persuaded, while others are discovered and seized by functional forces.

Kon Ka Kinh National Park is located in the districts of Dak Doa, Mang Yang, and Kbang (Gia Lai province), with an area of ​​nearly 418 km².
