The program announcing the National Biodiversity Restoration Year – Quang Nam 2024 was held concurrently with the Conference announcing the Quang Nam Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, under the theme “Biodiversity Restoration – Quang Nam 2024 – Living in Harmony with Nature,” carrying significant political, economic, cultural, and social implications. This is a national and international-scale environmental event, the first of its kind proposed and hosted by Quang Nam province, contributing to raising awareness among all levels, sectors, and the people about the importance of biodiversity conservation and providing an opportunity for Quang Nam to concretize sustainable development in the direction of green development.
In 2024, the Provincial People’s Committee directed relevant agencies, localities, and media outlets, including newspapers, radio stations, magazines, newsletters, and online information portals in Quang Nam province, to develop and implement a plan to disseminate information about the Project and its activities and results. Localities, national park management boards, conservation areas, and schools organized hundreds of awareness campaigns, dissemination programs, and training sessions on biodiversity.
Most of the Project’s contents were implemented and completed by the units, achieving the Project’s goals and requirements; leaving many positive impressions and attracting the attention and participation of the entire society, non-governmental organizations, and international organizations in biodiversity conservation and restoration activities in the province, yielding many positive results. The message of the National Biodiversity Restoration Year – Quang Nam 2024, “Living in Harmony with Nature,” has been strongly disseminated and received active support and cooperation from all levels, from central to local; international organizations and agencies; and the community. This has significantly contributed to raising awareness, fostering a spirit of protection, restoration, and promotion of biodiversity values.
According to Mr. Phan Thai Binh (Permanent Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Quang Nam province), “The National Biodiversity Restoration Year – Quang Nam 2024 has concluded, but the spirit, commitments, and achievements will continue to spread and further promote the path of conservation and sustainable development of biodiversity.”
