U Minh Ha National Park is located in Ca Mau province. Its administrative boundaries are located in two districts: U Minh and Tran Van Thoi. It was established under Decision No. 112/QD-TTg dated January 20, 2006 of the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on the basis of upgrading Vo Doi Nature Reserve.
U Minh Ha National Park is one of three wetland conservation sites in the Mekong Delta.
On June 25, 2009, it was recognized by UNESCO as one of the three core zones of the Mui Ca Mau World Biosphere Reserve.

+ Conservation area of Melaleuca forest ecosystem on peat land: 2,592.6 ha.
+ Sub-area for restoration and sustainable use of wetland ecosystem: 5,134.2 ha.
+ Administrative Service Zone: 801ha.
Forested area: 7,639 ha, accounting for 89.6%
+ Natural forest: 1,100.6 ha
+ Planted forest: 6,538.4 ha
+ Non-forest area: 888.8 ha, accounting for 10.4%. Including: Kinh bo land, kinh ke lip land, land for housing construction.

– Peatland: Thickness from 0.5m to 1.5m (Area: 2,658 ha), accounting for 31%
– Clay: (Area: 5,829.8 ha), accounting for 69%
Outstanding features of U Minh Ha National Park
– The outstanding feature is the Melaleuca cajuputii forest ecosystem of the Myrtaceae family, formed in flooded, alum-waterlogged conditions, on peat soil, and is a typical tree of the Mekong Delta.
– It is also home to many species of birds, rare and valuable animals listed in the Vietnam Red Book and many common animals.
– Especially, many bird species that are threatened with extinction in the world are recorded here.
– Forest resources have scientific value in terms of gene source conservation and nature conservation;
– Forests have value in protecting the environment and landscape.
Biodiversity
– About plants: Including 176 species belonging to 65 genera, 36 families. Some common species are:
+ Timber tree group: Melaleuca (dominant species), Foam, Bui, Tram Khe, Tram Se.
+ Shrub group: Hairy plant, Spiny honey, Bubble tea, Oil mark, Squash.
+ Fresh carpet group: Dớn, choái, Sây, Năng, Cỏ eel tail, Mây nước, longan + Aquatic group: Duckweed, water fern, Water hyacinth, water fern, Morning glory, water spinach, coconut vegetable, grass, seaweed
- Wild animals: 23 species: 13 families, 8 orders
- Birds: 91 species belonging to 33 families, 15 orders
- Reptiles: 36 species, 16 families, 3 orders
- Amphibians: 11 species belonging to 5 families, 2 orders.
Aquatic resources
- There are about 37 species of fish belonging to 19 families. Of which, there are 9 economic fish species.
- Economically valuable fish species: Snakehead fish, yellow catfish, perch, butterfly gourami, striped gourami, striped gourami, striped gourami, giant snakehead fish, and giant snakehead fish
