Thoai Son Landscape Protection Area (Nui Sap cluster, Nui Ba The, Nui Tuong, Nui Nho) has an area of 370.5 hectares.

To preserve the vestiges associated with Thoai Ngoc Hau’s land-opening achievements and to preserve the natural resources bestowed, in 2000, the local government took advantage of this location to open a water channel to build a beautiful lake and restore it to a tourist destination called Long Ho Nui Sap.

Nui Sap Lake Area is about 9 hectares wide, divided into 3 lakes. The largest lake is named Ong Thoai Lake with clear, calm water reflecting the mountains.

On the lake bed there are red painted iron bridges connecting stone “oases” in the middle of the lake, such as: Mai An Tiem Bridge, Khoa Bang Bridge, Vong Nguyet Bridge.

In the middle of the lake is a solemn statue of Thoai Ngoc Hau, standing upright, with his back to the mountain, pointing towards Thoai Ha canal. Behind the statue is a translation of the Thoai Son stele, the stele is engraved according to the Vietnamese translation of the original stele, the stele is erected on the mountainside for future generations to remember the merits of Thoai Ngoc Hau and many ancestors who sacrificed their lives in the process of reclaiming and opening up the land.

Around the lake on small rocky islands are placed statues of the god Siva, pongar towers, linga, yoni… which are models sculpted based on the shape of Oc Eo antiques. In another corner of the tourist area is the One Pillar Pagoda with its profound features, adding a poetic and peaceful beauty to the lake.

In the lake, there are still large and small rocks protruding from the water surface. When the water outside is dry, the lake still retains its clear, blue color all year round and never dries up. Coming here, visitors can row a boat into the nooks and crannies of the cave, through the caves and tunnels in the mountains to go from one lake to another as if going through natural caves. The lake scene with the harmonious combination of “mountains” and “water” has created a charming landscape painting.
