Muong Te Nature Reserve is located in Ta Tong and Mu Ca communes, with extremely rich and diverse flora and fauna, especially forest ecosystems. Survey and investigation results of Muong Te district show that there are 542 plant species, including 57 rare plant species listed in the Vietnam Red Book and 7 species in the World Red Book, most of which are rare medicinal species; 22 narrowly endemic species for the Northwest region, 7 species listed in Decree No. 32 of the Government and 6 species typical of the Northwest region: Black Melaleuca, Water Melaleuca, Bone Melaleuca, Brown Melaleuca, Cistanche, Aglaonema, Aglaonema.
