Thuong Tien Nature Reserve (KBTTN) has an area of over 6,000 hectares, located in 3 communes: Kim Tien, Thuong Tien (Kim Boi) and Quy Hoa (Lac Son). In which, Thuong Tien commune is located in the core area with the largest area of over 5,000 hectares. Thanks to being surrounded by this “green lung”, Thuong Tien land has fresh air, with the cool Khu stream. Among the hamlets of Thuong Tien, Khu hamlet is the farthest and highest and is also the hamlet with the largest forest area.
The terrain of the nature reserve is quite complex, including hills with moderate slopes, some places higher than 1,000 m. Thuong Tien nature reserve is mainly limestone mountain forests. The main vegetation is the type of tropical evergreen closed humid forest that has been affected. The forest has some precious woods such as lat hoa, nghien, tau… Thuong Tien nature reserve has over a thousand plant species of more than 70 families and more than 300 animal species. On a clear day, standing on the top of Cot K with an altitude of 1,037 m above sea level, we can look to the northwest of Muong Thang land, to the south and southeast of Muong Dong, Muong Vang…
